This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. – Colossians 1:6

Dear Mother, Not Just on Mother’s Day (An Open Letter to My Mother and Yours)

Dear Mother,

Incase I haven’t made it clear enough, I love you.
With all that’s within me – I do.
I appreciate you and you mean the world to me.
I thank our father God, for making you as selfless as He did.
I praise God for choosing your womb as the one I’d be perfectly knit in.
The distance from the depths of the sea to the highest mountain can’t compare to how much I appreciate your sacrifice. Glory be to God.
Mother, you’ve bent backwards, cried rivers and toiled tremendously just so that my siblings and I could be alright.
You haven’t given us more than we need, you’ve given us just enough.
Actually, scratch that, you have.
You’ve spoiled us with love.
Only because you want the best for us.
We’ve watched you mommy.
We see what you go through.
We watched what you went through.
We know more than you think we do about how you’ve struggled.
We’ve watched how God has brought you out of pain.
We’ve seen how beautiful and full of grace Jesus Christ is, through you.
Thank you for being honest with us.
Mother dearest,
This is just the beginning, so keep your head up.
In my eyes, you aren’t a day over 40, so this is truly just the beginning for us all.
Though weeping may endure through the night, joy comes in the morning and our joy is here.
You are our joy as much as we are yours but that’s not all.
God has so much more for us.. Especially you.
Hold on tight.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you to hold on tight.
Hang on momma burr.
Again,
Thank you.
Thank you Grandma.
Thank you Aunty’s.
You’re all beautiful and strong women that inspire me daily.
Mommy,
I wouldn’t be who I am today without you.
My confidence. My ambition. My drive. My zeal. My jollof rice. lol
Thank you. And thank God, for you.
Yours truly,
Omolewa
Friends,
Love your mothers.
I don’t know your stories or how your relationships are, but a child is a mother’s best gift.
Be a good gift and make momma proud.
Not just on mother’s day.

28Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

29“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. – Proverbs 31
8Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. -Proverbs 1
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb. – Psalm 139
