I Must Confess…
God has been working on me; especially this past week.
Through my mental battle…
I was left with these two passages:
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! – Matthew 5:44
Now, I asked, what does love look like, and I received:
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. – 1 Corinthians 13:4 – 7
through that passage, “Love is patient”, stuck with me.
I realized, I haven’t been patient with those closest to me that I claimed to love..
Even my irritating enemies – I realized I shouldn’t be so irritated by them.
God does this thing where he softens your heart and reveals your brokenness to you – I absolutely love it.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. (I Corinthians 13:13)
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.- I John 4:8
God has given me another chance to love.
Even when I really don’t want to, I must love.
For as long as God lives within me – I will love.
So I guess my message to you all today is to go back and do some heart work. Open up your heart and hear from God.
Is He trying to get you to love more? Have more patience? Be less irritable?
What is it that God is doing in your heart? Tap into it and waste no time.
I pray that we would not be distracted by the things of this world but constantly convicted of how messy and sinful our hearts are.
That’s really all I had to share today. I pray that you’ll have a fulfilling week!
