Am I Still Welcome Here?
You’ve been gone for so long that you no longer feel welcome in the presence of God.
You’re not quite sure how to explain your absence.
It’s like you’ve missed 3 months of classes and your professor asks you where you’ve been…
“uhh.. uhh.. sick?”
You wanted to return 2 months ago but you weren’t sure how you’d be received so you thought it was better to “wait it out a bit”
So you waited,
You waited a week,
then a month
& to your surprise, reentry still made you feel uneasy. It didn’t feel easy.
You hadn’t practiced your reintroduction yet any how.
“Will He even remember my name?”
Lord, how do I return to Your presence?
I’ve been gone for way too long.
I’ve turned to everyone and everything but you…
How do I make my way back?
I’m scared that you wouldn’t accept me after all I’ve toyed with.
My body – Your temple,
My heart, all of it,
I’m caught up in lies,
I’ve been hurt and abused,
I’ve lost a couple people.. things.. and sometimes I simply felt as if you couldn’t hear me.
So I ran away, but now… I just feel.. empty.
I’m running on empty, Lord and even through it all, I still believe that you are God.
Lord, how can I possibly stand in Your Holy presence once again?
I am the Lord,
not your Professor – I don’t need a doctor’s note for your absence.
I am your Healer,
there is no mental, physical or spiritual ailment which I can not restore.
I have known your Name,
you don’t need to hide, because I know it all and yet, I’ve chosen to love you.
I love you,
it’s a love that transcends human understanding, a love so wide, so deep, so broad that you simply can not comprehend
I have washed you clean,
come into my presence, just as you are.
I’ve been waiting for you; I was just getting started on you when you left & Here I Am, so come in.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” – Matthew 11:28 – 30
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. – Ephesians 3:16-19
