Sooo, You Want A Deeper Relationship With God, Huh? Read This!!
I received this message from my dear friend Tobi Tayo. It stirred up something in my heart and I’d be remiss if I didn’t share it with you all. It’s a bit lengthy, but hang tight, I promise – it’s worth the read. Be blessed! – Sim
“Come on up, I want to show you deeper things”
A snippet of what God is speaking to me in this season. Most of it, I’m yet to be able to pen down [and maybe I don’t want to share yet lol] but this bit might apply to someone here. My quiet time consists of me asking weird questions at times and I record the impressions/voices I hear in return, so it might read strange.
Anyway, here goes:
It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them.
Why did You make these beautiful wonders in the world out of the reach of man?
These beautiful sights
These mountain tops
If we have to wait a thousand years to be smart enough to find them, what’s the point?
Why take so much care to paint the skies and order the clouds with such skill if we couldn’t touch them till 1900?
You were made to discover
It brings Me joy each time you unfold something I concealed
I love to see that look of amazement on your face. That smile and the excitement when you see it
That ‘Aha!’ moment when you find what I hid for you to possess
Treasures of the ages
The wisdom, the depth
It’s been there all along. I’ve waited for you to find it
I love when you come deeper and find me in places unexpected to you
It’s our little game of hide and seek and I want you to win
If it was created, you can conceive it
If you can conceive it, it exists
For I am the Creator. You can only create out of what I already created.
“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
John 1:3 NKJV
When you use your imagination and you think, you are only browsing the catalogue of all I deposited in you
Whatever height, you can climb it
Whatever depth, you can explore it
No matter the distance, you can run it
Because you can think it
With Me, you can do all this
I made the horizons so breathtaking because I knew, one day, you would fly across it.
There’s so much more to see and to enjoy-for the good of all mankind-that’s locked within you and around you. It is the glory of kings to search out these wonders within yourselves and the world around you.
All that I created is for you to explore, to care for and to dominate. On this side of eternity, this is your territory.
Look, I am giving all this land to you! Go in and occupy it, for it is the land the LORD swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to all their descendants.'”
Take possession of the land and settle in it, because I have given it to you to occupy.
Whatever I have called you to, I have called you to create
In art, be excellent
In governance, be innovative
In science, discover new ways
In business, break boundaries
I am infinite. There are infinite discoveries found in Me.
You get filled up as much as you create room.
Come on up, I want to show you deeper things
This section is an excerpt from Benny Hinn Ministries’ post titled “Deep Calleth unto Deep” (https://www.google.ca/amp/amp.bradenton.com/living/religion/article34570122.html)
To experience a deeper dimension of God’s presence, your soul must hunger and thirst for God in the same way a deer pants for the safety and sustenance of water. Only a small percentage of believers ever really experience this kind of intimacy with God because of the price.
Psalm 42:1-2 declares:
“As the hart [male red deer] panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”
In the natural, the panting of the deer is an audible agonizing for the safety the waters provide when pursued by a predator. When the deer runs into the water, the predator can no longer detect its scent. In addition to finding safety from its enemies, the deer finds relief from thirst in the waters.
“Intimacy with God is found only in the realm of the spirit.”
Spiritually, your process of discovering a deeper dimension of God’s presence involves longing, thirsting, and seeking.
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary” (Psalm 63:1-2).
Intimacy with God is found only in the realm of the spirit. There is a place of deep anointing, deep presence, and deep intimacy with God Almighty where “deep calleth unto deep” or spirit calls unto spirit. It is a place that is so pure that every part of your being is consumed by the presence of Almighty God; a deep place where there is perfect communion between your spirit and every dimension of God’s presence. Your soul is stirred and there is a breakthrough in the spirit as “deep calleth unto deep” (Psalm 42:7).
It is at times like these that words become inadequate, because spoken words are the expression of the mind and not the soul. Words cease, and you stop asking. Only your heart can speak as it erupts in worship. There is perfect harmony, perfect oneness. As you bask in the glory of His awesome presence, your spirit begins to fellowship with Him, crying out, “Oh, that I might know Him! Not the things He gives, or what He imparts, but Him!””

Take the time to read this article as well and do some personal bible study.
But I believe that in this season, the Lord is calling us to go deeper in to drink of His fountain. De-clutter and clear all distractions. Pray in the spirit. More than before, you need to stay prayed up. Ask Him to fill you up. Use praise as your weapon. There’s a call for communion… sweet unbroken fellowship of the spirit as deep calls unto deep.
Better believe that when you ask Him for this deep communion, He’s gonna come demolishing walls and shifting things to get through to your heart. Request this at your own ‘risk’ (it may or may not sting at first, but it’s good for you) – Tobi Tayo
