The Lie

Maya Angelou once wrote a lovely poem that she titled “The Lie”.

However, I feel that in modern days’ society, the lie is more than a lovely poem. It’s a disgusting reality; only if you realize it.

We live through the computer screen, more so we live through social media.
We have created false identities that mess up our minds, whether it be that of the receiver or giver, someone’s mind is being played with.
We don’t know who we are.
We want to be someone else, not knowing the person we want to be doesn’t even know who THEY are- so who are we really trying to be?

We feed off the likes and comments.
Likes and comments have become temporary self-esteem builders.
We believe people really “like” us, or know us- but the simple truth is they don’t.

We live in a lie,facebook-imaginary-friends-comic
We are living a lie.

Who is to blame? We surely can’t play the blame game forever.
We need to own up to our mistakes.

This lie can inadvertently make one a pathological liar trying to live up to their “#InstaTruth”, “#InstaImage” or “#InstaFame” .

We are distracted, whether you accept it or not.
We need to focus, focus in on what really matters.
We need not be ignorant and give wacko excuses.
“Yolo” “It’s just for now” “Let me live” “I’mma do me, you do you, boo boo”
Focus.

Focus..

What matters to you? What is your purpose? What is Gods ordained plan for your life? What path is your life supposed to take? Where are you going to be in 5 years? Where does God want you to be?

Focus…

Become in touch and in tune with yourself and with God.

You can NOT run away from reality forever.

We are living a lie.
What ever happened to reality?

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
