So yesterday was special.
I allowed God to work and it felt awesome.
Two days ago on my way back from the train station I saw another homeless man who sat collecting change.
However, when I went closer to him, he said he just needed a pillow and some sheets. I promised him i’d get that for him…
Later that day, I took one of my pillows and my warmest blanket and headed towards the train station but I didn’t see him. So I thought, Ok let me pray about this first then try again.
Yesterday, I went out to eat dinner with a friend and felt in my spirit that I was going to see this man and give him what he needed.
Guess what happened..
I saw him.
I didn’t have the stuff with me so I went to speak to him and let him know i’d be right back in about 10 minutes.
So.. I went to my room, put the pillow and blanket in a bag and started heading right back towards the station.
Thankfully, he waited for me!
He was on the phone with his mom but told her to hold on and was so thankful.
So thankful that he asked for a hug saying “May I hug you? I’m not dirty.”
It was so heart warming and humbling knowing that God had started something new in this mans life.
Moral of the story:
Don’t be afraid to be kind to people on the streets. They need you.
Don’t judge them. They need you.
Lend a helping hand knowing that God would do the rest. They need you.
More so, God needs you.
Please please please, if God is telling you to do something, DO IT.
I’m not sharing this to get any praise because that’s the last thing I want. Be kind because God has been kind and merciful to you and not so the world can praise you. The worlds praise is finite.
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. (James 4:17 NLT)
